Genuine William and Mary 11 inch movement with latched plates.
Originally had 5 pillars when it started life , but as was often the case repairers or cleaners would steal the odd pillar when they had the opportunity as brass was so expensive. so now down to four pillars


History of William Wright:

William Wright senior was born circa 1670 and apprenticed to Henry Brigden in 1684 but not Freed. He worked just outside of the City of London in Crown Street, Southwark (probably to place himself just beyond the jurisdiction of the Clockmakers Company), and was involved with Richard Street with taking over of the maintenance of the clock at St. Pauls from Langley Bradley in 1716. He’d died by 1719.
